On Jan.15, 2019, the delivery ceremony for the world first 85000m3Very Large Ethane Carrier(VLEC) and keel laying ceremony were held in DSIC Offshore Engineering Company, where Jaccar Chairman York, DSIC leaders Liu Zheng and Yin Xuelin, and more than 100 guests domestic and abroad attended the ceremony.

Smooth delivery of this VLEC marks that DSIC Offshore Engineering Company has successfully taken the first step in transformation of industrial structure, and turned in a satisfactory answer to successful construction of liquefied gas carrier with high tech, high challenge and high value added.

85000m3VLEC is 231.6 m in length overall and 36.6 m in breadth, adopting Type C fluid tanks with the world max weight, dimension and capacity through the most advanced design of tri-lobe technology(3 lugs) to increase 20% loading volume. This carrier arranges two bunker tanks and fuel gas systems on deck, and configure the world first dual-fuel low-speed main engine in engine room, which takes ethane as M/E fuel in service voyage, and M/E running supplies power to the whole ship through shaft generator with higher economy. Meanwhile, its M/E is equipped with EGR, diesel generator with SCR and relevant water treatment system, sodium hydroxide system and urea system, etc., capable of sailing in the control zones with strict requirements in nitric oxide emission. Application of the above equipment and systems is the first in China up to now and only a few worldwide.

From steel cutting to ship delivery, it has taken 19 months in total. From undocking of the whole ship to sea trial completion, it has taken 5 months, and her period of sea trial is 100 hours. Both inclining test and empty ship weighing has reached desired effect, loading capacity is fully up to standards, and data and parameters acquired in sea trial has not only met the stipulation of the contract, but also reflected outstanding performances.
