On Nov. 17, DSIC held a naming ceremony for No.11 and 12 3900TEU container vessels constructed for Singapore-based PIL together, where their Godmother has named those two vessels KOTA SINGA and KOTA SURIA respectively. CSIC GM Paul Sun Bo, PIL Managing Director Zhang Songsheng, and DSIC leaders Liu Zheng, Cai Zhuyi and Deng Changlian attended the deremony.

During the tough fight of production for sprint at the end of year, facing difficult situations of two-line construction in dock and tight production resources for KOTA SINGA and KOTA SURIA, DSIC has firmly carried out the idea of management concrete and construction concrete, taken precision management as a breakthrough, guaranteed the schedule with quality control, and improved quality and efficiency with innovative construction method so as to ensure those two vessels to accomplish two major milestones of undocking and naming together in the same day.

It only took DSIC a little more than one month of on-water period from undocking to M/E starting for KOTA SINGA, which has promoted the working schedule effectively, facilitated production continuity and plan controllability comprehensively, and laid solid foundation to accomplish key milestones of the vessel on schedule.

The in-dock construction period of KOTA SURIA is almost 1 month shorter than that of KOTA SINGA. It only took 26 days from the erection of superstructure to A/E acceptance test, which has set a new record of the shortest time for the same series of vessels with construction integrity to be further boosted.
